What a lovely way to start a Saturday - cleaning, lounging, just hanging out.. John is out running errands and then we'll be (hopefully) putting together the master bedroom. As all the rooms of our house get more solidified, it feels more and more like home.

I've taken most of the pieces out of their boxes and put them in our room, and it makes me that much more excited. The colors we picked (with the help of other designers - see previous posts) are going to make our master look like a spa retreat. I'm really glad we're staying so neutral and serene. The dresser I refinished before we got married looks great with the room color, the curtains we already have match great, and the oatmeal-colored chair and headboard keep it "rich" looking. I got white picture frames at Ikea for the pictures I edited and printed (where we met, where we got engaged, and a picture from our wedding). I'm glad those are black and white with a pop of color. Hopefully it doesn't take us too long today. We still need nightstands and lamps but we'll know what will look good when we get this stuff together. Then maybe I'll be motivated to paint the master bathroom...

In other news, my classroom has been totally technology-ed up this week. My smartboard was finally installed (not that I'm complaining, there are many seasoned teachers that don't have one). I love it as much as I thought I would. It really does help in teaching rather than distracting and it is fun to play with and learn new tricks. It's forcing me to be prepared for lessons because I'm setting everything up ahead of time. I look forward to learning more about them.

Friday afternoon was chaos in the classroom because the lovely tech-man was installing a printer (yes!) and scanner for the math program. Then I had about 5 billion calls and interruptions. There was also a social that afternoon and ASB rep speeches, so kids were not focused. On top of that my principal came in and observed for 10 minutes or so during all the chaos... She's someone that I respect so it makes me nervous to be observed. But... hopefully I won't make them regret hiring me... eek!

Anyway, no pictures today but hopefully I'll have some soon! Happy Saturday!
